To kick off 2019, we are so happy to be hosting Cari Rosno of Sophron Life on January 17th at 6pm for a dig-deep discussion of self-love, self-care and how to more fully embrace our femininity. This time of year there is a lot of talk of self-care and self-love, but Cari will actually give us some eye opening tools about how to do this everyday. I expect it will be a night to get the gears of your mind and heart turning in a new way. We posted a video (oh gosh!) on Facebook introducing Cari and talking briefly about how we got connected, if you want to see more.

You can RSVP on Facebook, but if you don’t care to tell the world you’re coming, just let us know via email. We’ll have a pot of hot tea from Gong Fu, a little treat for each person, and most of all some fun and interesting conversation to help move you forward in 2019. Cost is $10.

I often wish I could do something else. I wish I could make music. I wish I could be a doctor or a nurse. I wish I had a head for numbers or scientific theories.

I spent a lot of life trying to do “something important”. Now I’ve realized, you can only do what is in you. And what is in me is a love for people and pretty things. I also love the human body. It can stop me in my tracks everytime I think about my heart and how it beats again and again and I don’t have to do anything. That’s amazing. And. I have a love for philosophy and world religions that are mixed in there too. I thought of going to seminary for a bit.

Through all kinds of twists and turns, I own a lingerie shop in Des Moines, Iowa where I have gotten to meet all of you. Hear about your weddings, your loves, and even your broken hearts. I’ve learned about the struggles that ALL the different and wonderful shapes of women have. I’ve been as frustrated as you when things don’t fit right. I’ve gotten to hold your sweet babies. I’ve met your mothers and sisters and daughters. I’ve toasted with you, I’ve cried with you, and sometimes I’ve missed you when I haven’t seen you. And when I think about it all I feel overwhelmingly grateful.

Our expert from Simone Perele Paris, Emily, will be here in the shop on Tuesday, July 17 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. She'll show us the fall lines, a dreamy bridal collection and just talk all things French lingerie. . .

We just signed on to participate in the Amazing Wedding Race Summer Edition at Jasper Winery on Sunday, July 22nd. There is nothing quite like this event! This year's winners get $17,000 worth of wedding prizes including tuxedo rentals, venue space, catering, flowers, spa & beauty treatments, wedding photography and much, much more.

Couples will participate in multiple levels of activities and challenges to narrow the competition down during each leg of the race. There will be paper challenges like puzzles as well as physical challenges.
